My Art Week @wallartbyemily by Emily Duchscherer Kirk

My Art Week @wallartbyemily.

Good Evening and welcome to my art blog.

I hope you’ve all had a great weekend!

So this evenings post is all about Artists Block, Like writers block for Artists….

Sometimes you have to find your Inspiration as a artist, it doesn’t always come naturally.

It’s not always easy either.

Also sometimes like in any job you have VERY bad weeks.

You know we all have them,

When you think things can only get better.

Where I Find My Inspiration to start a new painting.

So there isn’t always a a specific source for my Inspiration.

Books, photos, news and sometimes other artists to name a few.

Sometimes simply an idea from many different sources combined.

As you may know nature is one source I use for inspiration in many of my paintings.

However sometimes without focus ideas can go really wrong.

This week is a prime example of this in my studio.

Lets just say I’m not impressed with my work this week.

Because I’m keeping this blog PG I won’t repeat the many swear words that have come out of my foal mouth this week.

Focusing on New Ideas.

So the best thing to do when Artist Block strikes for me is to focus on new ideas.

I need to brainstorm for a while and get out of the circle of negativity.

Clear my head and start a fresh.

This is my aim for the week ahead to brainstorm and record some amazing ideas.

The Second step towards a great painting is to work on technique and colour studies to go with these ideas, composition is key.

These combined should help me create some awesome artworks.

Finally the most important way to start a fresh and create some great art….

Passion to create, motivation to succeed.

I’ll let you know how I’m getting on tomorrow.
