My Art Inspiration for the week ahead by Emily Duchscherer Kirk/wallartbyemily.
This week: 23/10/17
So Mondays at wallartbyemily.co.uk is all about Inspiration.
The start of a new week must bring a muse and I’d like to talk a bit about mine.
At college I was drawn to many different styles in art however the movement of Surrealism has always been fascinating.
Salvador Dali (My Artist of the week, Wednesday’s blog) is very influential and inspires many of my works, he’s always been one of my heroes.
So I’ve got a lot planned in this week, I have been commissioned to create a 100x70cm artwork. I’ll be completing this in the style of Colour Colour 4,which is pictured above this article.
I’ll be attending Langport Artisan Market with many new artworks this Friday 10:00 till 14:00. Also on Friday afternoon I have an exciting new adventure creating some abstract art with Langport Youth Club, my nephew Vinnie will be joining me there, it’s going to be fantastic to teach.
The original Colour Colour 4 is available beautifully framed by garypynreframes.co.uk on my website www.wallartbyemily.co.uk. It’s also on display for 5 more weeks at Just Bears uk, (opposite boots) the Quedam centre, Yeovil, Somerset. You can also follow me on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter searching @wallartbyemily.
My inspiration for this week is myself, recreating is sometimes harder than creating new artworks. Although sometimes more rewarding because you can make them better with the more experience and confidence you build with every piece of art you finish.
I will be posting on social media how I’m doing and blogging daily if you’d like to find out more.
Apologies for no weekend blog I’m still finishing my untitled artwork I’ve now decided to call Golden Autumn 36″x24″ acrylic, ink and gloss medium on canvas. I’ll be posting this evening on Instagram the finished result.
I hope you have a great week and find your own inspiration.
